Broad support for the draft Liskeard Neighbourhood Development Plan
Following the intensive community engagement and formal consultation period on the draft Liskeard Neighbourhood Development Plan, the Neighbourhood Plan Team have analysed the feedback and reported to the Town Council. Wetherspoons design – what you told us and what next
Wetherspoons have applied for planning permission on the old Taylor's Garage Site on Barras Street. We welcome the fact that there are plans to use this important site in Liskeard. Community engagement analysis shows support for Neighbourhood Plan
Strong support for the Neighbourhood Plan has been expressed by the people of Liskeard, according to the analysis of last summer's community engagement activity prepared by Professor Lynne Butel of the Plymouth Graduate School of Management, which is part of the University of Plymouth. Training event points the way.
On 16th December a Neighbourhood Plan training session on Housing was provided to the NP Team and Working Group volunteers. Thirty interested people were present at our Volunteers event on the 27th November, and a few more sent apologies but indicated their continuing interest. Liskeard Neighbourhood Plan gets Grant Aid
The production of the Liskeard Neighbourhood Plan is being supported by a grant awarded by the Supporting Communities in Neighbourhood Planning Programme led by Locality in association with the Royal Town Planning Institute/Planning Aid England, Community Development Foundation and partners, available through the My Community Rights website. EARLY RESULTS FROM COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT POINT TO KEY ISSUES FOR LISKEARD
Seventy-five percent of people in the Liskeard area think that housing is the most important thing for the new Liskeard Neighbourhood Plan to cover according to the first results from the community engagement work carried out by the Town Council this summer. First ‘Volunteer Evening’ a quiet success.
On 31st July we held our first Volunteer Evening, intended to bring potential volunteers up to speed on the Plan and explain the roles that could be played. Although the attendance was quite low, (its Summer Holidays!) there was a good discussion of the issues and those present 'signed-up' to help in various ways. Busy Have Your Say Day at Morrisons
Over 150 people recorded their views about the future of Liskeard at our Have Your Say mini-exhibition at Liskeard Morrisons on Saturday 26th July. During a hot and busy shopping day lots of people took an interest, with many spending quite a few minutes to talk about the issues that concern them. Cornwall Council has now formally 'Designated' the Liskeard Neighbourhood Area under the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012. Under these any Neighbourhood Plan being produced must be carried out within the Area, the extent of which must be submitted to, publicly advertised, consulted on and approved by Cornwall Council. Liskeard Town Council has decided that it wants to create the first Liskeard Neighbourhood Plan, and has applied to Cornwall Council to designate the parish of Liskeard as a Neighbourhood Area, in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012. The Consultation and Visioning workshop of July 2015 resulted in two sub-‐groups being set up to look at the cross-‐ cutting themes of 1) the Cattle Market site and 2) Cornwall-‐owned properties that are part of their Property rationalisation review.
