Progress Report March 2015: Working Groups Hard at Work!

The four themed Neighbourhood Plan Working Groups have been hard at work researching their subjects and thinking about the objectives and policies that would be best for Liskeard's future, taking into account all that the community told us in the summer engagement period last year. Community engagement analysis shows support for Neighbourhood Plan

Strong support for the Neighbourhood Plan has been expressed by the people of Liskeard, according to the analysis of last summer's community engagement activity prepared by Professor Lynne Butel of the Plymouth Graduate School of Management, which is part of the University of Plymouth. Training event points the way.

On 16th December a Neighbourhood Plan training session on Housing was provided to the NP Team and Working Group volunteers. The event, funded by Locality/CDF and provided by Cornwall Rural Community Charity, gave some useful pointers on affordable housing, design and sustainability, and the potential of Community Land Trusts. Progress Report 15th July 2014

Our community engagement campaign has continued apace. On 29th May the  Neighbourhood Plan engagement event at the Public Hall drew in lots of good ideas and lots of discussion. Over a busy day, more than 120 people attended. Each was was able to discuss the issues with a Neighbourhood Plan Team member, and record their thoughts on what is important for our town. Progress Report 1st May 2014

Cornwall Council has now formally 'Designated' the Liskeard Neighbourhood Area under the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012. Under these any Neighbourhood Plan being produced must be carried out within the Area, the extent of which must be submitted to, publicly advertised, consulted on and approved by Cornwall Council.
